    Depending on the city or town the cab is being driven, but on the average in a city like Washington DC 125 to 150 miles a day. An average of 12 to 15 fares a day.

    Agree with first respondent. Add that mileage and fares
    never number enough to earn middle class lifestyles.

    I drove a cab years ago and averaged around 1000 miles a week. A 6-day work week puts it at 166 miles per day.

    If I had only averaged 12 fares a day, I would have quit after the first week. A typical day was 25 to 30 fares.
